The Clip-On Shape Guide, or “clip-on library,” is a key component in ordering custom clip-ons quickly and easily. The guide is a collection of 17 standardized shapes that cover most conventional eyeglass frames. It is available in two formats:
- Physical Guide: A physical piece included in the flipper kits (which contain various tint colors).
- Digital Guide: A printable PDF available on the Chadwick Optical website that can be scaled and used directly from a screen or a printout.
How It Simplifies Ordering
The primary function of the guide is to eliminate the typical requirement of sending the patient’s actual eyeglasses to the lab.
- Match the Shape: The practitioner holds the patient’s eyeglasses up to the physical or digital guide to find the perfect matching shape (e.g., “Square Extra Large”).
- Select the Tint: The practitioner then selects the desired tint from the available options (e.g., “450 tint”).
- Order by Code: The order is placed using the combination of the shape name and the tint code (e.g., “Square Extra Large in 450 tint”).
